Time Slips Away

I'm here to tell you something very scary. Are you ready?

It's almost August. No, seriously. Check your calendar. On Wednesday, it will be August 1st. That's two days from now.

I told you it was scary.

Where did summer go? I feel like it was spring just a few short weeks ago, and now it is almost fall. The leaves will start changing, we'll all start school again. Wasn't there supposed to be a break in there somewhere?

So, I'm here to tell you the best things I did this summer.

1. Went to Lori Foster's Reader Author Get Together. This was the best time I could possibly have. I got to meet two of the other Honey Creek authors and generally hang out with some great people. I can't wait to do it again next summer.

2. Saw my baby brother graduate from college. Fine, he's not a baby or even little. He is younger than me though. He is also the proud recipient of a BA in graphic design.

3. Threw my mom a big retirement party. She'd worked for the same school district for over forty years. It's nice to see her actually relaxing and enjoying her time off. She deserved it. Plus, the cherry coke cupcakes I made for the party were to die for.

What's your favorite thing you did this summer? It can be something coming up. I've still got one big thing on my plate, but I'll tell you more about that later :)

Don't forget, I'm still touring for Nursing Second Chances. You can find me today at Hanging with Bells. Comment for an entry into my Grand Prize Drawing. You can also still enter for a chance to win a copy of Nursing Second Chances as part of the Hero's Blog Hop
