Yet, as much as I love this season, my allergies would rather I hide in an air-conditioned room and wait it out. And each year they seem to get worse. So I chug down a fistful of meds and wait until I can experience a brief sigh of relief.
March 20th is the official first day of spring. Although, like most of the Midwest, we've been experiencing delightful spring temps for awhile. March came in like a lion with it's hard rains and strong winds. I'm anxiously waiting for the lamb to arrive and bring calm, peaceful days of laying around.
What did I do to ring in the season? I did a little planting; took my mower blades to get sharpened and played at the park with my kids (we're on spring break!) To finish the first day, I plan to do a little writing, grill a little food and kick back on my porch and listen to the frogs sing me a song.
What are you doing to celebrate spring?
Sounds like a wonderful start to your spring. We're enjoying some much needed rain. The almond blossoms are falling in the rain and wind, and making my eyes a lovely shade of red. But I still love it!
ReplyDeleteI don't necessarily 'celebrate' spring, but I sure do appreciate its arrival. Cleaning the winter debris from the yard, trimming my ivy, looking for my hostas to come peeking up and watching my lilac leaves pop out brings me a lot of happiness.
ReplyDeleteWhat I love most is that the sun is shining! In Northeastern PA, we have a lot of dreary, cloudy days. That type of weather does not agree with my constitution - at all. I need sunshine. Soaking it up...soaking it up. Ha!
I love hostas and lilacs and we don't have them in my area. When I go back East, I love to drive around neighborhoods and admire the hostas planted as borders and under trees.
DeleteLol, I took a few days off, as it is boring and too quiet at the office at the moment. In the mornings I do some spring cleaning, my boyfriend helped me this morning! And the rest of the day I spend reading and blogging :)
ReplyDeleteHow wonderful to have a few slow days to do the household things. Your boyfriend must be a gem for helping! I hope you're enjoying your books.
DeleteI have *got* to spring clean. Right after I catch up on blogging, finish the edits for my novel, start a new knitting project...
